Hey I just got a freaky news from one of my profs. Boys who are chicken lovers get booby coz of their fave foodstuff. Apparently, those chicks get estrogen shots to make em a little more meaty. So when people consume it, the female hormone's just passed on.

And in that light, it allegedly accounts for the increasing number of effeminate guys out there too. Well of course we know it just cant be the chickens that are making gays out of guys right? He he he

Maybe i should get some more of that chicken to grow mine? Teehee!

Bachelor of Science in Requirement Compliance.. what ive been busy lately. i've been hospital-hopping to finish all my labs for my enrolment this July and admission is not guaranteed! If they bump me over to September, i'd have to go through this again. hope it does not happen.

the labs were for Hepa b (anti-hbs and hbsag), got this done at Perps Las Pinas for P700+. They run it on Wednesdays only and the results are available the following day

hepa C (anti hcv) for P400 at PGH (so much cheaper I realized). Results are out the following day

MRSA nose or throat swab at P350 per site (had both done just to make sure. 2-3 days to culture it)

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) came up to P2065. The results were out the follwing day. Again, PGH is cheapest. St Luke's and Makati Med runs it for around 3k each.

I had my varicella titer done at Makati Med (PGH doesn't have it). Cost me P1575. Wednesday is their running day too, and cut-off is around lunch so you have to have your sample extracted before that. You'd get the results the following day if you make it. otherwise, you'd get your results thursday of the ff week.

the 2-step mantoux test is going to be done by a pediatrician, so the cost will depend on her rates. you might have to schedule it too since they need to order the TB bacilli they're going to stick you with (it was ID and it was the nastiest needlestick ever). then wait 72 hours for the reading.

at makati med, you could get that done for P1500. the peds have their supply in their clinics. if you still have time, you can go to fortune care and have the test scheduled with a doctor. that will only cost you P800

a copy of the xray reading can be requested at the st luke's clinic (if you''ve had your visa medical done already).

today, i had the polio vaccine. it was oral- bitter and nasty but no more sticking thank God.

most of these titers be done at PGH. they have an outpay express lab, just a table inside the admitting area in the main building. compared to their other labs, services aren't free, but they're relatively cheaper than most hospitals.

drama drama drama

I got my mantoux cert a couple of minutes ago. positive.

mantoux tests if you have antibodies against tuberculosis. what they do is inject .01 cc intradermally on your inner forearm and wait for a reaction, like if there's a bump, reddening and itching. the reaction signals that your body is trying to fight the bacteria and are a good sign. readings are done after 48 hours, and another one at 72nd hour, where the doc will measure the induration. like if it grows a bump, he'll get its radius. for pinoys, it's a positive test if it's more than 5mm. in my case, it was 17mm.

should have expected that. i had a ward admission before who was only diagnosed he had TB after 6 hours. the resident  missed the spots on the xray. good thing the attending did not. problem is, he got there the following morning. so i was treating the patient already when they put it on the charts. my good for nothing employer didn't even run a test on me.
